Preliminary design.

The new wastewater treatment plant of Tavernes de la Valldigna has very low levels of noise pollution and excellent odour control devices. The plant is completely automatized and controlled from the control building using telematics.

The water treatment comprises a preliminary treatment, a primary settling tank and an active sludge biological treatment with secondary decantation. The process is completed after the sand filtration and the UV disinfection systems, both part of the tertiary treatment of the WWTP.

In order to optimize the treatment process the overflows are abated by a storm tank at the beginning of the wastewater line. A treated water tank is also included in the new WWTP to reuse the water for irrigation.
